Gary D. Chan, B. Comm., C.A.

Gary was raised in Vancouver and graduated in 1969 from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree. After graduation he articled in Vancouver and Prince George and received his membership in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia in 1973 with a national firm.

In 1973, Gary began specializing in the area of personal and corporate taxation. He has completed the In-depth Taxation Program offered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA), lectured on tax courses for the CICA and the College of New Caledonia and is a member of The Canadian Tax Foundation. Since 1982 Gary has generalized in providing accounting, auditing, taxation and financial advisory services to small and medium sized organizations.

Gary brings over 30 years of auditing, accounting and tax experience to the practice.

Philip H. Foucher B.Comm., C.A.
Philip was born and raised in Prince George. After graduating from Duchess Park Secondary School, he attended the College of New Caledonia on the University Transfer Program for two years, then completed his Bachelor of Commerce at the University of British Columbia. Philip articled with a local national firm and obtained his membership in the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1991. Philip brings to the firm over 15 years of accounting and auditing experience with a strong professional background in small and medium sized businesses and not-for-profit organizations.

Philip is a past president of the Prince George Chartered Accountant's Association, and is currently the Treasurer for the Prince George Child Development Center. He is active in the Prince George Master's Basketball League, and coaches in the Prince George Minor Basketball Association. Philip is married with three children.

J. Alain D. LeFebvre, B.A., C.A., M.B.A.
Al was born and raised in Prince George, received his university training at Simon Fraser University, graduating in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts (Commerce Major, Economics Minor). After graduation he returned to Prince George and completed his term of articles with a national firm, attaining membership in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia in 1982. In 1991 Al obtained a Master of Business Administration from City University, and has lectured on accounting for the College of New Caledonia, and on accounting and finance at the Masters level for City University.

Al has held positions outside of public practice including Deputy Treasurer for the City of Prince George (7 years) and thereafter the Director of Finance for the University of Northern British Columbia (5 years).

Al brings to the firm over 20 years of accounting and auditing experience with a particularly strong professional background in the not-for-profit sector and the technical areas of cash management, budgeting, financial projections, internal controls and accounting systems.

Sheila Nelson, C.A., MBA.
Sheila was born and raised in North Vancouver, BC and received her university training at the University of British Columbia, graduating in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science followed by a Licentiate of Accounting degree in 1982. After graduation, she articled with an international accounting-firm in Vancouver and obtained her Chartered Accountant designation in 1985.

Sheila left public practice in 1988, moved to Edmonton, Alberta shortly thereafter and worked in both the aircraft and service industry as a controller, In 1996, she moved to Prince George where she completed her Masters of Business Administration through the University of Alberta as well as the In-Depth Taxation Program offered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants while working for a international accounting firm.. Since 1996, Sheila has specialized in providing taxation services to small and medium sized businesses.

In September 2005, Sheila was admitted into the partnership of Chan Foucher LeFebvre LLP and brings with her a strong, professional background in taxation, including corporate and personal tax, estate planning, corporate amalgamations and break-ups, reorganizations and buying and selling of businesses.
